In the heart of Quebec's lower Laurentians region, Maison Lavande opens the doors to its new administrative centre, a testament to the marriage of agrotourism and lavender perfumery. Envisioned as a sanctuary of well-being for employees, this project embodies ISSASTUDIO's commitment to biophilic design and sustainability, creating a workspace that seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings.
Crafting Connectivity with Nature
The design narrative revolves around the concept of opening up to nature, bridging the transition from a rural environment to an industrial district. ISSASTUDIO, renowned for its expertise in biophilic design, collaborated with Syscomax to create an architectural masterpiece that echoes Maison Lavande's ethos. Defined by geometric lines and Scandinavian allure, the building's visual signature harmonises with the surrounding landscape, creating a serene oasis for work and collaboration.
A Workspace Designed for Well-being
At the heart of Maison Lavande's administrative centre lies the atrium, a luminous space bathed in natural light and adorned with views of the countryside. Designed for collaboration and contemplation, the atrium features collaborative lounges, a café, and a conference room, offering employees a tranquil environment to foster creativity and productivity.
Pathways to Tranquility
The layout of the administrative offices prioritises connectivity with nature, with strategically placed windows providing glimpses of the outdoors. Acoustic booths offer privacy, while communal areas encourage interaction and idea-sharing. Artificial lighting, meticulously selected to complement natural daylight, enhances the ambiance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Materiality and Sensory Delights
Wood and neutral colours dominate the interior palette, creating a sustainable and harmonious environment. Accentuated with touches of green and terracotta, the design evokes a sense of tranquillity and vitality. From the shingled look of the atrium ceiling to the flora-inspired cabinetry, every element is thoughtfully crafted to enhance well-being and connection with nature.
